The Philippine law elite gathered for the launching of a new player in the legal publishing industry. Legisperit Publications Inc. is the new venture of lawyers Manny and Hazel Riguera, known also for their hand in building the top bar review center in the nation from the ground up.
The launch, a private dinner hosted at the Riguera family home, was graced by the attendance of eminent academics and practitioners from University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), San Beda University, University of the Philippines, San Sebastian College, University of the East, University of Sto. Tomas, and many others.
Staying true to the legisperitus name
Legisperit is derived from legisperitus, a Latin word referring to an individual who is knowledgeable in the law. The Riguera lawyers have long been involved in imparting knowledge and inspiring expertise among law students—with Manny being a professorial lecturer at UA&P and the Review Director of Jurists Bar Review Center, and Hazel being the Managing Director of Jurists. Now they aim to further and more broadly empower legal minds by providing expertly crafted legal educational resources for law students and graduates alike.

In a heartfelt speech to friends and colleagues, Manny emphasized their unique position that enabled them to make this giant leap to publishing. Their long-standing familiarity with generations of bar reviewees provides them with a deep insight into the reviewee’s needs that guide Legisperit’s writing and publishing process.
Having published several legal textbooks himself, Manny knows firsthand the common concerns and predicaments that authors find themselves facing. Stemming from his personal experiences, Legisperit proudly identifies with the motto, ‘by authors, for authors.’ They stressed their commitment to protecting the intellectual property rights of the authors.
A back-to-back-to-back book launch
Legisperit launched its debut book: Remedial Law Bar Review Outline: Based on the 2024 Bar Examination Syllabus (RLBRO Vol. 1, Civil Procedure), written by Manny himself. The book features up-to-date and digestible reviewers for remedial law, along with the latest Supreme Court decisions and issuances.
At a price of P1,950, the 2024 bar reviewees can make the most of their remaining time to study using Legisperit’s ideal review material.
Manny also happily shared that RLBRO Volume 2 (Special Proceedings & Special Writs, Criminal Procedure, and Evidence) is going to be released soon.
