Gymnast Emma Malabuyo punches Paris ticket

Filipina gymnast Emma Malabuyo punched her Paris Olympics ticket after winning the bronze medal in the individual all-around event of the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships on Friday, May 24, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The 21-year-old Malabuyo amassed 50.398 points in the event which was ruled by Chinese bet Jiafei Hu (50.699) and compatriot Xinyi Qin (50.566) who took silver.

Paris-bound Levi Jung-Ruivivar tallied 49.166 points for seventh place while Ancilla Lucia Manzano (30.933) and Kaitlin De Guzman (10.666) were 33th and 45th place, respectively.

The UCLA standout will be the fourth gymnast from the Philippines along with Ruivivar, Carlos Yulo and Aleah Finnegan. — Mark Rey Montejo
